Ar ran Gaynor Davies, Cyfarwyddwr Addysg a Gwasanaethau Cynhwysiant

Darpariaeth Prydau Ysgol am Ddim yn ystod y Gwyliau

Cafodd darpariaeth Prydau Ysgol am Ddim yn ystod y gwyliau ar gyfer disgyblion cymwys ei chyflwyno mewn ymateb i'r pandemig COVID-19 fel modd o roi cymorth am amser cyfyngedig i deuluoedd. Er bod y cynllun wedi’i ymestyn sawl gwaith, cadarnhaodd Llywodraeth Cymru ar 28 Mehefin 2023, er iddi archwilio opsiynau eraill am gyllid er mwyn ei estyn ymhellach, dyw e ddim wedi bod yn bosib o ganlyniad i gyfyngiadau cyllid. Yr estyniad diweddaraf hyd at ddiwedd gwyliau hanner tymor mis Mai fydd yr olaf. Ni fydd estyniad pellach er mwyn darparu dros gyfnod gwyliau'r haf a thu hwnt.

Byddwn i'n ddiolchgar pe byddech chi'n rhoi gwybod i'r rhieni/gwarcheidwaid oedd arfer derbyn y cynnig na fydd yn cael ei ymestyn ymhellach yn ogystal â'u cyfeirio nhw at y ddau adnodd defnyddiol yma:

Cael help gyda chostau byw | LLYW.CYMRU. Mae'r dudalen yma'n cael ei diweddaru'n rheolaidd ac yn darparu gwybodaeth am ffynonellau cyllid posib, gan gynnwys ein Cronfa Cymorth Dewisol ar gyfer pobl sy'n wynebu pwysau ariannol eithriadol.

Yma i helpu gyda chostau byw | LLYW.CYMRU - Mae'r ymgyrch yma'n ceisio annog pobl i gysylltu ag Advicelink Cymru - Cyngor ar Bopeth am gyngor diduedd am ddim yn ymwneud â gwneud y mwyaf o'u hincwm, gan gynnwys manteisio ar gymorth ariannol.

Efallai y bydd gan deuluoedd ddiddordeb hefyd yn y Rhaglen Cyfoethogi Gwyliau Ysgol sy’n cael ei chynnal yn rhai ysgolion. Mae'r rhaglen yn darparu prydau iach, addysg am fwyd a maeth, gweithgarwch corfforol a sesiynau cyfoethogi i blant mewn ardaloedd sydd dan anfantais economaidd-gymdeithasol yn ystod gwyliau'r haf. Mae'r rhaglen yn cael ei hyrwyddo dan yr hunaniaeth brand 'Bwyd a Hwyl'. Am ragor o wybodaeth, ewch i Raglen Gwella Gwyliau'r Ysgol 'Bwyd a Hwyl' - Cymdeithas Llywodraeth Leol Cymru.

Mae modd ichi ddod o hyd i ragor o gymorth a chyngor ar gyfer teuluoedd sy'n wynebu caledi ariannol ar wefan y Cyngor drwy ddilyn y ddolen ganlynol: www.rctcbc.gov.uk/CostauByw.

Holiday Free School Meal Provision

Holiday provision for learners who are eligible for free school meals was introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a form of time-limited support to help families. While there have been several temporary continuations of the scheme, Welsh Government have confirmed on 28th June 2023 that despite fully exploring options for funding a further extension, it has not been possible due to funding constraints. The most recent extension to the end of May half term is the last. There will be no further extension to cover the summer holiday period or beyond.

I would be grateful if you could advise those parents/carers previously in receipt of the offer, that it will not be extended further and signpost them to these two useful resources: -

Get help with the cost of living | GOV.WALES - This page is regularly updated and provides information on possible sources of financial support, including our Discretionary Assistance Fund for people experiencing extreme financial pressures.

Here to help with the cost of living | GOV.WALES - This campaign seeks to encourage people to contact Advicelink Cymru - Citizens Advice for free impartial advice on maximising their incomes, including accessing any financial support.

Families might also be interested in the School Holiday Enrichment Programme (SHEP) which takes place in some schools. This scheme provides healthy meals, food and nutrition education, physical activity and enrichment sessions to children in areas of socio-economic disadvantage during the school holidays. The programme is promoted to children and families under the ‘Food and Fun’ brand identity. For further information, please visit 'Food and Fun’ School Holiday Enrichment Programme - WLGA.

It is also possible to access more support and advice for families experiencing financial hardship on the Council’s website via the following link: https://www.rctcbc.gov.uk/EN/Resident/ConsumerAdviceandMoneyMatters/CostofLivingSupport/CostofLivingSupport.aspx.
